Ndakene picks nomination form, sets to return to the National Assembly to represent the Edu-Moro-Patigi Federal Constituency
Honorable Ahmed Abubakar Ndakene has officially picked up the nomination form to contest for the position of Member, Federal House of Representatives for the Edu-Moro-Patigi Constituency under the All Progressive Congress (APC). The experienced lawmaker and philanthropist represented the constituency at the green chamber from 2019-2023 and demonstrated amazing leadership qualities. His return to the house signals a renewed commitment to people-oriented representation built on his track record of community service and grassroots engagement.
During his previous tenure at the National Assembly, he showed capacitated and community-driven leadership through:
1. INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
Key projects facilitated by Ndakene include the construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, drainage systems and public facilities such as the Chiroma Road drainage in Patigi, rural access roads, erosion control projects and the ongoing bridge construction in Bokungi, Tsaragi. Also, the construction of an ultra-modern town hall in Shonga, a royal palace in Shonga and an ICT centre in Patigi. Solar street lighting projects were widely implemented across several towns including Lafiagi, Shonga, Patigi, Moro and Jebba targeted to improve security.
2. EDUCATION AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT
Ndakene facilitated scholarships for several constituents across secondary and tertiary institutions. Also, over 150 youths and women were trained and empowered in agricultural production in Moro LGA. Additional facilitation of training programs such as AGSMEIS loan training for 60 constituents further enhanced entrepreneurial skills. These initiatives significantly improved employability and productivity among youths and women across the constituency.
3. WELFARE AND HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT
Welfare packages were provided to individuals and communities affected by conflict. Cash donations were also made to support religious institutions. Borehole rehabilitation and water access support were provided across multiple communities within the constituency for improved access to clean water.
4. SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Social investment initiatives targeted empowerment and poverty reduction across the three LGAs. Over 50 SMEs were supported through CAC business formalization while more than 120 applicants were assisted with N-Power registration. Additional interventions include market money support, COVID-19 relief grants, trader funds, farmer funds and survival fund facilitation for over 150 artisans. Women empowerment was strengthened through direct financial grants and provision of grinding machines. Ndakene also facilitated financial support programs reached hundreds of constituents through loans and stipends.
5. ECONOMIC GROWTH AND SUPPORT
Destoner machines were distributed across Shonga, Bacita, Moro, Lafiagi and Patigi to improve rice processing and ensure high-quality local rice production. Bio-liquid fertilizers were also provided to farmers across the constituency. Motorcycles were donated to Okada riders’ associations and individuals to support transportation businesses. Additional support includes facilitation of farmer money, trader support schemes and establishment of a rice mill factory in Shonga to boost agro-processing and value addition.
As an advocate for community development, the honorable promises his continuous readiness to build on past achievements. He also reiterated his commitment to harness resources, empower youths, support farmers and businesses and create an environment where opportunities thrive for all.
As the campaign officially draws close, Ndakene is set to outline a forward-looking agenda centered on community growth, improved security and economic aggrandizement to be driven through active engagement of all constituents.
